Nathaniel is currently available to give lessons in the Ingham County Area. He currently accepts trombone players grades 8-12 and euphonium students grades 5-8. 

Nathaniel believes that all students, regarless of background, have the capability of suceeding in music. His goal through lessons is to mentor and nuture lifelong musicians, and in doing so create lielong appreciators and advocates for the arts. Through individual instruction catering to the learning styles and needs of each student, along with a strong focus on musical fundamentals, lessons provide students a chance to hone their craft. Nathaniel's lessons vary from student to student, but include a combination of  breathing exercises, meditation warm-ups, sight reading, fundamental exercises, etudes, student performance repoitoire, and listening and theory activities.

 

Nathaniel is a strong advocate for musical self-reflection and musical critical-thinking, as a majority of a student's practice time is spent on their own, and self-corrections will provide the most substancial opportunity for growth. Nathaniel has a strong background with both the Breathing Gym and Brass Gym methods of performance, and uses both in his lessons to enhance student lung capacity and embochure strength.
